Outreach

Outreach is the service of church members to the Little Rock and to the greater central Arkansas community. Outreach ministries have their impetus in the biblical injunctions to do good to all people (Galatians 6:10), and to love our neighbors as ourselves (Leviticus 19:18; Luke 10:27-37). Most often they address practical needs with biblical solutions for God’s glory.

The Bible Church is a partner with several organizations in outreach ministry. STEP Ministries (501-758-4054) involve us in tutorial, mentoring and discipleship programs with children and youth in North Little Rock. Also, we have opportunity through STEP to participate in abstinence programs in the North Little Rock school system. The Crisis Pregnancy Center (501-753-4038) offers opportunities to counsel and mentor expectant mothers, and to encourage women who have experienced the tragedy of abortion. Also, administrative and managerial skills are put to use in the office and on the Board of Directors. International Friendship Outreach (501-791-0123) partners families and single adults with foreign students who are enrolled in a central Arkansas colleges and universities. The “friendship partner” assists the student in his or her adjustment to American culture, and shows hospitality in a variety of ways.

Outreach ministry is not limited to service through an agency or organization. It may simply be the personal initiative of an individual to show mercy and kindness to a neighbor across the street. Thus, we encourage church members to become acquainted with their neighbors, to develop friendships with those in their community, and to be ready and available to assist with needs as they arise. In so doing, we “let our light shine” for the glory of God.
