2024 republic of south africa Mission Trip
frequently asked Questions
why South Africa?
What will we do?
We have a longstanding relationship with the churches and ministries in South Africa, and have enjoyed ministering alongside and supporting Wayne and Carol Mack, Sarah Ray, and Blake and Claire Scheideman. They are doing faithful ministry there that we want to encourage and support.
who should apply?
This trip is intended to be a mix of students and adults. Current students 9th grade and above may apply. The team size is limited to 15 people in total. The greatest needs for team members are a willingness and ability to work hard, be flexible and show the love of Christ to the lost and hurting.
when are applications due?
Applications are due January 3, 2024.
Where will we stay?
We will stay in homes provided by ministry leaders in the area.
What does it cost?
The total cost per team member is approximately $1500. This is a current best estimate. Fundraising is encouraged. The team will work together to put on fundraisers as time allows.
The work will likely vary, but most likely we will do a combination of a family conference, one-day VBS for children, and encouraging fellowship with the missionary team. As needed we will assist with any work projects that come up with the Baby Homes.
Do I need a passport?
Yes, you do need a passport to travel to South Africa. If you do not have a passport and desire to participate in this trip, now is the time to apply!
Do I need travel insurance?
The church office will obtain travel medical insurance for each member of the team, and the cost will be included in your total.
