frequently asked questions
When is it?
April 10-11, 2026
Who is the speaker?
Chelle Stire (more information to follow but if you were at the women’s mission luncheon in 2025, Chelle was our speaker that day.) Chelle will be teaching on “Encouraging one another in Truth and Love.”
$100
Are scholarships available?
Yes, there are limited partial scholarships available, so don't let finances keep you from joining! We want every woman who would like to attend the retreat to be able to come!
What should I pack?
Your personal items, comfortable clothes and casual shoes, your toiletries, pjs, and Bible. April weather in Arkansas is ever changing – so check the weekend weather to determine if you might need a jacket or umbrella?
What are the Accommodations like?
We know that no bed is as cozy as your own bed, but we think you will be pleasantly surprised with the accommodations that Ferncliff offers. Each lady will have her own bed! Ladies will either be lodging in the Brown Center or Beldon Pond Cabins.
The Brown Center has hotel-style rooms with two double beds. Each room in the Brown Center has a private bathroom with shower and a desk with a lake view. All beds have tempur-pedic mattresses, and pillows, linens, and towels will be provided. For your convenience, all rooms come equipped with a coffee maker, and hair dryer.
The Beldon Pond Cabins are duplexes perched on a crest above the three-acre Belden Pond. The cabins are youth-oriented (yet adult-friendly cabins). For women’s events, women will sleep on bottom bunks only with tempur-pedic mattresses and each bunk has its own outlets for charging any electronics. Each cabin is divided into two separate, but adjoining, bunkrooms. There will be 4 or 5 ladies per room, with each lady having her own bed. Each bunkroom has a private bathroom and shower area. Each of the cabins has a small entry porch on one side and a connecting covered deck with seating on the other. This covered area links the cabin with its neighbor.
Coffee is available in both lodging spaces and will be Keurig style coffee makers. The conference center provides caffeinated coffee pods for the lodging areas. You are welcome to bring your own coffee pods if you would like something else in addition. Decaf and caffeinated coffee will be available in the cafeteria and in our meeting room.
Note: Pillows, sheets, and towels will be provided. You will want to bring your own blanket in case it is a cool April evening. If you have your own special pillow, feel free to bring that along.

Who is it for?
BCLR Women (college age and up)
Where are we going?
Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center, 1720 Ferncliff Road, Little Rock, Arkansas 72223
Is there a carpool plan?
Ferncliff is only 7.6 miles and 12 minutes from BCLR! This is one of the many reasons we chose Ferncliff Conference Center- It’s not only in a beautiful nature setting but it is conveniently nearby! While there are no official carpool arrangements, we encourage you to connect with others who are attending and carpool together from BCLR.
When I arrive, will it be clear where to go?
The office is the first building you see when you enter the conference grounds. We will have a welcome team waiting there to greet you with a welcome packet and provide directions.
who will be my roommate?
Once we have the list of attendees, we will place roommates in each room. It’s usually a fun surprise to see who your roomie is for the weekend. But if you have a special circumstance, please leave a comment in the space provided on the registration form in Realm.
what if i have a nursing baby?
While we cannot accommodate older children, of course, nursing babies are welcome.
May I invite friends?
We would be happy for you to bring a guest. We are encouraging BCLR women to sign up as soon as possible so we can know how many spaces we have available for guests.
what will we be eating?
Ahh…one of the questions women always want to know and it was one of the first questions we asked our conference center host! We know women love fellowship around the table with good food and conversation! So, no camp food for ladies! On Friday night we will have a taco bar and salad bar, a full breakfast on Saturday morning, and grilled chicken sandwiches and salad bar for Saturday lunch. There will be a conference center hostess to great you at each meal to answer questions about any food allergy accommodations. If you have any dietary concerns, you are welcome to bring your own food in addition, but we have limited fridge space. What about snacks? Don’t worry at all – we have BJ Himes and Naomi Hamline leading the team – you know it will be delicious!
is there any free time?
YES! While the retreat registration begins at 4:30 on Friday, for anyone who would like some extra time away, you are welcome to arrive at 3p.m.
We also have the luxury of having some unscheduled time on Saturday afternoon. Some options that will be available during this time for you to choose from –
We also have the luxury of having some unscheduled time on Saturday afternoon. Some options that will be available during this time for you to choose from –
- Fellowship time – Connect with other ladies as you have conversation while overlooking a beautiful lake view from the porch of our meeting room. Board games and puzzles will be available as well.
- Stroll the leisurely walking trails around the property.
- Take a hearty guided hike on the property (You will want walking shoes for this hike.)
- Even take a nap if you just need a quiet rest!
- And of course, we will have yummy snacks and drinks available for you during free time.
can i still come if i can't spend the night?
Of course, you can! We would love to have us all together as much as possible - that is part of the fun of an overnight retreat. But we know that some of you have reasons that you cannot spend the night. One reason we chose a conference center nearby is so that women who are unable to spend the night would still be able to join us for the teaching and fellowship and mealtimes. Please note that due to rental of the conference buildings and lodging, the cost of the retreat is $100 whether staying at the retreat or at home overnight.
Wait, I have more questions!
