why honduras?

Where we'll be

We have developed a fruitful relationship with the church and ministry over the last few years, including benefiting from the ministry of Carlos Montoya and Edwin Zelaya at BCLR! They are doing faithful ministry there which we want to encourage and support.
We will stay in the facility that Carlos helps to direct near the church called MEDA (Evangelical Ministries of the Americas). It is a gated retreat area with a mess hall and other facilities which functions as a seminary campus for pastors from all over Latin America.

who should go?

What does it cost?

This trip is intended to be a mix of students and adults. We hope to take a team of 20 people in total. Because the trip is focused on evangelism and disaster relief, the greatest needs for team members are a willingness and ability to work hard, be flexible and show the love of Christ to the lost and hurting.
The total cost per team member is $1300. This is a current best estimate given the uncertain nature of travel in Honduras due to the hurricanes. Fundraising is encouraged. The team will work together to put on fundraisers as time allows.

What about Coronavirus?

Do I need a passport?

We are working with travel agencies and relevant government agencies to determine exactly what is required to travel to and from Honduras. Currently, conditions are such as allow for travel to and from Honduras. Honduras currently requires a negative test shortly before the trip. We will keep the team apprised of any changes as we learn them.
Yes, you do need a passport to travel to Honduras. If you do not have a passport and desire to participate in this trip, now is the time to apply! Minors also must meet certain paperwork requirements to travel to Honduras without both parents. We will make the appropriate paperwork available to parents as students join the team.
